Group Writing Project: What Is Personal Development?

September 28, 2007 by Gleb Reys 27 Comments

Today I’m kicking off the first ever Group Writing Project here on Personal Development blog!

I’ve been thinking about the topic for it a lot, and after many great ideas which will undoubtedly be expressed in the future group writing projects, I’ve finally realized that it’s hard to find a better question than the one I get asked by many people on a regular basis:

what is personal development?

So that’s the challenge for this writing project. Please think the question over and come up with the best definition of personal development in your book. There are no limitations – you can have a lengthy article about it or sum it all up in just one sentence – I’ll be interested in any opinions I will get.

Secrets To Successful Time Management

September 24, 2007 by Gleb Reys 29 Comments

Time Management

Time management is one of the most important aspects of being successful today.

The scale of the information overload is steadily growing, and unless you take proactive measures against the everyday distractions, you’ll soon be buried under the information processing. The number of daily tasks we need to cope with growth year by year as well, which means the pressure is always on to reach higher goals and deliver more results. The average productivity expectations constantly grow. If you were successful and managed your time effectively 10 years ago, it could be not only due to the skill, but also because there wasn’t nearly as much happening around you and expected from you.

Vitalist Dashboard

Two weeks ago I’ve decided to give Vitalist a try, and so far I’m quite happy. I’m working on a full report of my experiences with it so far, but thought I’d ask if any of my readers use it as well?

Personal Development Partners launches again

September 21, 2007 by Gleb Reys 2 Comments

You probably remember how Aaron Potts came with a clever idea of opening a social website for people interested in anything related to personal development. The first edition of Personal Development Partners was a success, but required major technical rework of the website, which is why it was closed for a while, only to reopen now with even bigger fanfares! :)

Here’s how it looks (click the image to go to the website):

Personal Development Partners

Aaron has just started a Personal Development Push contest which offers great prizes (iPod nano and iPod shuffle with preloaded personal development audio programs) to everyone who helps him spread the word about PDP. I think it’s a great way to kick-start a new project, and predict that PDP will see a steady growth in the next few weeks. Go on and have a look, it’s worth a visit and I sense there’s more to come as the community there develops.

Please use this link to visit it and maybe register – who knows, maybe it will help me win one of the prizes? Wouldn’t mind that at all :)
